If you are a fan of easily missed but "you need to check this out" places, Ruthies is for you. Located on Route 30 East, this is the model of traditional diners...extraordinarily good food, more than reasonable prices and "service with a smile" wait staff. Our waitress was Rose and she could not have been sweeter. Our first time there, we had questions and even though she was busy she answered our concerns. The food came quickly, was soooooo good and best of all I would bet no one could leave hungry. This was our first time here but I promise it will be the first of many...

Loved it, Turkey dinner with stuffing and mashed potatoes and homemade chocolate peanut butter pie!

They have huge helpings great food and services and a comfortable atmosphere. They have great comfort food and they always make you feel welcome. I enjoy coming here with my wife for breakfast and they have a huge breakfast for a very low price and the food tastes great.

Oh my goodness!!! I absolutely love this place! We love having breakfast here.. nice place, clean, and friendly staff!! The menu pricing is beyond reasonable! The menu has a lot of choices for you to pick from.You can tell it's a place for locals to come in and have their morning coffee or share some time over lunch chatting!!! Awesome food! Highly recommended!! Always have cash on you, they dont take any credit or debit cards but they do have an ATM located inside for your convenience!!!

Ruthie’s is slipping. I had chicken noodle soup on Saturday & it was not as I remembered it. Maybe it cooked all day & was overcooked. Disappointing as I talked it up to my friends.

This is absolutely, hands-down the best down home "Country" cooking I've had since moving here 4 years ago from South Carolina! Ruthies just took me back to my grandmothers kitchen when I was a kid! I will most definitely be dining here again. Very affordable prices and huge portions!

I met my soul mate at ruthies! Ten years ago! Will never forget! We met in the parking lot,then went in to ruthies diner for breakfast..very good food for cheap! And the serving are HUGE! I love the food at ruthies and I love the person I met there 10 years ago! We go to ruthies on are anniversary every year! An we will continue to go till the very end!!

A variety of great comfort food. Generous portions at inexpensive prices. My favorite is the breakfast items! Make sure to bring cash, as its a cash only restaurant. The decor definitely has the diner vibe. The service is great!

Homemade style meals at very low prices. Quality of food has always been consistently grade A for as long as I can remember. Servers are always very friendly. The perfect place to stop before or after a day out at Idlewild, hiking up at Linn Run, watching the races at Jennerstown Speedway, or a dozen other experiences on the other side of the Laurel Summit. We've even gone out of the way to come here before going to Pittsburgh for a rock concert.11/10.

Been coming here since I was a kid. Pretty standard diner food at a high quality and large portions. Prices are REALLY good, but the caveat is it's cash only. Great place to stop after leaving Idlewild.

Delicious! Nice small town diner. Our server was very friendly and attentive even though she was swamped with tables and take-out orders. She never missed a beat. Our order came fast and the food was outstanding as always.

Good, simple, but flavorful food. Friendly and accomodating wait staff do a good job, but when it's very busy, you'll just have to be a little patient. No biggie. It's worth the wait. In particular, the fried chicken has a good breading - yum.

Ruthie's is our favorite place for breakfast. Delicious filling omelets. Meals are delivered in a very timely manner.

Ruthies is a local crowd kind of place, hence all the 5 star reviews. I would only come here for breakfast which they do pretty well. Prices are fair. Cash only but there is an ATM on site. Nothing fancy about this place but I think that's part of the "charm." It can get really cramped in there on the weekend mornings, especially when waiting in a line to get a table. They don't take names which is odd so you have to stand in a line. Also really need to get a soft drink machine. They only give you cans of pop. Nice atmosphere in morning but can be pretty quiet and dead for dinner. Friendly people though.

Food was very good! Our waitress was excellent & our food came so fast! Our food was nice & hot as well as my coffee...which is very important to me. It was our first time there & we would definitely go back.

Not worth the hour drive we took to get there. Ordered a drink. Pop. Got a glass of ice and a can of pop for $1.79. Heard the meatloaf was great so we ordered that and a tossed salad. The salad was plain and all iceberg lettuce including the hard bitter pieces. It had two slices of cucumber, two plum tomatoes and a few slices of onion. My hubby had one green pepper with his. The meatloaf meal had AMAZING fries. The gravy was delicious. The meatloaf altho it was good it tasted like it could have been a meatball or chili meat or spaghetti meat. It tasted nothing like a meatloaf. Ordered pie. Cherry and blueberry. Nothing great. More glaze filled than fruit filled. All together everything was just under $26. Might be an ok place for locals but not worth the effort to travel any distance to get there.

Love it. I had the fried chicken with French fries and a side salad. Very reasonable price, large portions. Great service. First time there I would recommend it. Nice for a family as well.

Definitely the home town truck station diner with darn good food and awesome friendly staff. Will be back again.

I've been going to Ruthies Diner ever since I was a little boy, being my grandparents favorite local spot, we tended to go when I would visit. Now, 30 years later, I still like to stop in for a good homesyle breakfast when in Ligonier. It reminds me of my grandparents and not a single thing has changed in all of these years I've been going.

This place has down home style cooking, this was my 3rd time there. My Husband and I took an elderly friend up with us. Everybody was so nice. Food was great, our friend bought an extra meal to take home.

Very good food. Inexpensive. You have to get there early on the weekends for breakfast because the place fills up fast. They do an exemplary job with covid precautions.

Cheap prices and ample portions of comfort home cooking. Absolutely worth a trip. Parking and seating can be difficult at peak times, but it's a small downside for the experience
